The Indiana Construction Roundtable Foundation (ICRF) addresses workforce shortages in the construction sector by providing training, classroom materials, and promoting careers in construction. As a part of this mission, ICRF contracted with Points Consulting to establish an improved methodology for workforce data projections, along with semi-annual reporting. Our collaboration focused on obtaining more accurate workforce statistics for the construction sector, which took into consideration the impacts of upcoming construction projects and announced investments in the State of Indiana. To estimate whether or not there is a labor shortage in the State of Indiana’s construction sector, PC forecasted labor supply and demand through a bottom-up supply forecast showing which sources of labor supply would have the greatest impact over the next five years.
