Meet the President

Points Consulting is led by President, Brian Points, who has thirteen years of experience working with clients from a wide variety of industries including state and local government agencies; higher education; not-for-profits; real estate developers; and private companies. Over that period of time, Mr. Points worked for industry-leaders in labor market analytics, Economic Modeling Specialists Inc., Chmura Economics & Analytics and most recently as Director of Research for Thomas P. Miller & Associates.

In past professional capacities Mr. Points has led innovative research projects that have advanced the science of economic and workforce analysis. To cite a few specifics, Mr. Points directed a research efforts to analyze the impact of aerospace & defense industries in three separate states; developed new methodologies for quantifying the creative economy; developed models for connecting educational programming with occupational outcomes; measured the socio-economic impact of supplier diversity programs; and helped clients connect rural opportunity zone projects with investors.

Mr. Points’ specialty is helping clients answer complex economic and workforce related issues such as feasibility studies, revenue/cost forecasting, real estate pro formas, opportunity zone technical assistance, housing assessments, economic impact analysis, fiscal impact analysis, benefit/cost analysis, industry specific analyses, target industry analysis, focus group facilitation, survey design and analysis, people analytics, labor market economics, workforce cost and availability studies, and econometrics, to name a few. Mr. Points has advised over 100 organizations, both large and small. Some of the most noteworthy organizations he has assisted include: the JPMorganChase Foundation; the Aspen Institute; Purdue University; the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development; the Alabama Military Stability Foundation; and the Florida Board of Governors, to name a few. Outside of his professional life, Mr. Points (usually) lives in Moscow Idaho with wife and four daughters, where he enjoys mountain biking, DIY projects, and attempting recipes far beyond his cooking abilities. When not in Idaho, he is exploring the vast and wonderful world with his family.
