The Economic Alliance of Okanogan County, WA, partnered with PC in September 2024 to complete a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) outlining priorities and next steps for the county over the next five years. The vast Okanogan County region includes numerous small rural communities (such as Omak, Oroville, Twisp, and Winthrop) as well as portions of the Colville Indian Reservation. The project included robust community engagement, with 460 survey responses, four on-site townhalls across the county, and 28 interviews with county staff, employers, tribal leaders, and other local experts. Our team also conducted a SWOT analysis in collaboration with Economic Alliance staff to assess the region’s strengths and challenges. The CEDS is now complete and will serve as a guiding document for economic development in the county.
