Points Consulting assisted the Claremont Institute in developing this third-party assessment of the economic impact of moving the Oregon-Idaho State Border. The borders considered for this study are contiguous with the original proposition of the Citizens for Greater Idaho to convert 22 counties in eastern and southern Idaho to the Gem State. As of the publishing of this report, 11 of those counties have voted in favor of this proposition. In this sweeping analysis, PC considers all sides of this question from enhanced productivity due to reduced regulation, to alterations in income tax rates, and the distribution of Oregon’s existing debts.
