The National Rails-to-Trails Consortium partners with local non-profits and landowners to make use of unused railroad track to transition it to publicly accessible trails through some of the most scenic and beautiful areas of America. As it pursues its campaign to build out a single, uninterrupted trail from Washington state to Washington DC, they partnered with PC to develop a visitor forecast and economic impact analysis within each of the 14 states/territories that the trail crosses.
